About Us

Mission Statement:

The Fordingbridge History Society (FHS) promotes history through an annual  programme of talks, visits and social activities for our members and welcome guests. FHS's aim is to provide a friendly environment to all who share our enthusiasm for all aspects of history.

That's the formal statement, but what does it mean or transcribe into?

We meet on every 2nd Monday of the month (Oct to April inclusive) for a series of presentations/talks on a wide variety of topics, followed by tea/coffee and the opportunity to catch up with other FHS members. See the Talks page for more details.

From May to Sept we offer a programme of summer visits, often specifically organised for FHS members. See the Summer Visits page.

Members, their guests and visitors are welcome at all our events.

Brief History of FHS: Fordingbridge Historical Society was formed in 1957 and continued until 2022 when members agreed to change the name to Fordingbridge History Society.
